About me
Nangchen Tashi is the creator of Tibetan eBooks, a digital library dedicated to preserving and sharing Tibetan literature. Born and raised in the remote nomadic village of Kashung (ཀ་གཞུང་།) in Nangchen, Kham, Tibet, Tashi immigrated to the United States and developed a deep interest in technology—especially computers—despite having no formal training. In 2010, as English books were shifting to digital formats, he began experimenting with creating Tibetan e-books. His early efforts gained attention on Tibetan news and social media, sparking widespread interest from the global Tibetan community. Encouraged by hundreds of supportive messages, he founded Tibetan eBook to collect, create, and share Tibetan books online. Despite technical challenges, Tashi has created and curated hundreds of titles, making Tibetan literature more accessible to readers around the world.
